Maxim achieves top marks

The largest office park currently under construction in the UK has achieved top level industry ratings for building efficiency, performance and sustainability.

Maxim Office Park, the £330 million development at Eurocentral in Lanarkshire has been awarded ‘Very Good' BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) assessments for nine of its ten Grade ‘A' office buildings with the tenth, ‘Building 5', receiving an ‘Excellent' rating. The buildings have also attracted top tier ratings for Energy Performance Certification (EPC).

Due for completion by March 2010, Maxim will deliver a total of 756,000 sq.ft. of office space - the equivalent of 27 football pitches - with the potential to attract around 7,000 jobs to the development. 

Already branded as the ‘ultimate office park', Maxim has been heralded as the blueprint for future business park projects due to its scale, design, environment and onsite facilities with Scotland's First Minister, Alex Salmond describing it as: "An ambitious development which has the potential to make a significant contribution to the Scottish economy."

Sustainable solutions at Maxim include the use of high performance glazing designed to reduce solar heat gain, energy efficient lighting, rainwater recycling systems, water fittings which run on low water content and heating and cooling systems which provide a high efficiency refrigerant flow.   When complete, Maxim will create a vibrant business district with Wi-Fi access across the development as well as a range of shops and childcare and leisure facilities. 

The integrated facilities will also include a PGA accredited putting facility and an amphitheatre to host an extensive arts and events programme.

Ryden Regional Managing Partner, Ewan Cameron feels the ratings further enhance the Maxim ‘offer' to potential occupiers.
