Fairbridge adds a touch of green to Maxim Office Park

26/01/2010

Fairbridge, which works with socially excluded young people, aged 13 to 25 to help enhance their prospects, brought six youths on to the park for a day to lend a hand in planting new trees on the grounds of the 756,000 square foot office development, located off the M8 Motorway at Eurocentral.

The partnership between Maxim and Fairbridge is designed to give some practical work experience to young people who face significant barriers to engaging in education, employment or training and help improve their skills, confidence and begin the process of preparing them for future employment opportunities.

Tom Watson, Fairbridge in Scotland Director says: “We are delighted to be working with Maxim and welcome the opportunities they can offer for the young people we work with. Hands-on activities such as tree-planting represent a small but significant step forward in helping our young people build on a range of practical experiences. We are also delighted to play a role in contributing to the development at Maxim Office Park which will ultimately offer employment opportunities through the range of companies that will be based there some of which might potentially benefit the people we support.”

Maxim Chief Executive Karen Campbell said: “Working with groups like Fairbridge is a key part of Maxim’s community strategy - we want to ensure that we will be an exclusive development that offers opportunities for all across Scotland. We aim to build on our working partnership with groups like Fairbridge and want to ensure that our relationship, like the many newly planted trees on the park, will flourish long into the future.”
