Maxim - Lanarkshire's newest and the UK's largest office park development - is preparing to go live with the appointment of Broadgate Estates Ltd to manage the £330 million development. Broadgate Estates has been handed a five-year contract to manage 750,000 sq.ft. of office space over the 10 buildings that comprise Maxim, together with 6 industrial units extending to 450,000 sq.ft. The firm will advise on property management with asset management to be undertaken by Tritax.
Broadgate Estates appointment follows its successful set up of "trophy" buildings and business parks such as Chiswick Park and Broadgate Circle, among others.
Karen Campbell, chief executive at Maxim, said:
"Broadgate Estates is well aligned to our commitment of providing excellent customer service and focus at a competitive cost. Efficient property management will enable occupiers to focus on their core business aims without worrying about reliability of facilities, which will be second to none."
Rob Fisher: "We are really looking forward to working with Maxim to maximise the benefit they get from their properties."
Maxim will deliver 756,000 sq.ft. of office accommodation in 10 high quality office buildings. It offers a strategic scale location to large global operators seeking a well-integrated office park environment in the EMEA zone.
Maxim will include one of Scotland's largest office buildings (Building 5 - 17,330 sq.m/186,545 sq.ft.) As such, Maxim is set to become a nationally significant, inward investment location for Scotland and the United Kingdom. Strategically located in Lanarkshire at Eurocentral on the Glasgow-Edinburgh M8 road link, the development is within 30 minutes of each of the cities' respective airports, in a region renowned for a high quality, well-educated workforce, and a range of leading cultural and leisure opportunities. Buildings 1, 3 are set for completion ahead of schedule in the early autumn, with the entire park ready in 2010.
Technical and environmental director, at Broadgate Estates Ltd said: "This is the UK's biggest speculative office park scheme and we are proud to be working with Maxim on this prestigious project. Broadgate Estates has developed a distinctive and successful approach to property management, which is clearly being recognised. Our extensive expertise across the whole range of building and estate management functions - including technical services, fabric management, health & safety, security, service charge management, visitor & delivery management and events & sponsorship - mean that we are ideally placed to provide such a service. "A large site such as Maxim is a community in its own right and it is essential that occupiers are well briefed on amenities, transport, security and related issues at all times. Good communication is central to that.
